Health Service Support Level 5 – Module One Units

The first module of the Health Service Support (Level 5) program is designed to provide foundational knowledge and practical skills required to offer quality care and support services in various health-related environments. The units covered in this module include:

1️⃣ Housekeeping Services

Focuses on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in healthcare settings, emphasizing infection control, safety, and environmental care practices.

2️⃣ Client’s Dietary Interventions

Covers nutrition basics and dietary planning, ensuring appropriate meal services are provided according to client health needs and medical conditions.

3️⃣ Psychosocial Support

Introduces students to emotional and psychological support strategies to help clients cope with health challenges, disabilities, or social issues.

4️⃣ Pre-Departure Training

Prepares learners for overseas or field assignments by focusing on cross-cultural awareness, personal safety, documentation, and adaptability skills.

5️⃣ Work Ethics

Develops professionalism by instilling values such as integrity, responsibility, time management, and respect in healthcare environments.

This unit specifies the competencies required to carry out pre-departure training. It involves

researching destination country, processing travel documents, demonstrating travel process and establishing work ethics and legal aspects. 

This unit describes competencies required to offer psychosocial care. It involves assessing emotional and social needs, conducting emotional and social support and conduct self-care.

This unit covers the competencies required to carry out patient dietary needs. It involves; establishing patient dietary needs, drawing individualized feeding care plan, carrying out feeding care plan interventions and conducting continuous dietary monitoring.
